In the early days of technology procurement, there was a saying that “No one was ever fired for choosing IBM”. With technology making such a drastic impact on a business’ operations, this saying eluded to the fact that team members that were tasked with selecting a technology provider were often held accountable for the success of a software deployment and thus selected an established player over smaller more nimble offerings.
